build-up questions
So i've decided on what i want to get done to my car by this summer...but i have to find out what all is required to make this project reliable....First off....i own a 2002 mustang GT auto....mods are basic....JLT cold-air and SLP catted- x and SLP lm2 cat back.....My target goal for HP is about 400rwhp to START....now from what i understand stock GT internals are good up to about 400rwhp...the problem is that the 2.6 kit starts at 8 psi of boost...which equates by kenne bells numbers to be about 450rwhp at 8 psi... so the obvious answer would be to rebuild the engine with forged or billet(?) internals... QUESTION NUMBER 1----Does anyone know of a good shop in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area that specializes in mustangs and/or more specifically 4.6 mod motors-------now could anyone list anything that needs to be upgraded to handle this supercharger...obviously fuel injectors, fuel rods, fuel lines???, fuel pump (included is Kenne bell boost-a-pump), larger throttle body/ upper intake plenum, larger Mass air flow sensor (what size?). and obviously heads and cams would help the s/c do its job...but more specifically i need to know about drivetrain....what needs to be upgraded (or would be a good longterm investment) to keep me from blowing crap apart on my car...what should i upgrade in my transmission (its an auto remember)...or would i be better off buying a performance tranny...what should i upgrade on my rear ...what kind of axles 31 or 33 spline?...what type of differential? and obviouslly a nice set of 3:7;3 gears (highway car....not dragstrip)...all comments/help in making this list for me would be greatly apprechiated as this is a project i am looking forward to...thanks again guys!
