I have a mostly stock 01 Gt 5-spd.....I've heard a LOT of opinions on which motor oil to use and which weight to use ona 4.6L with almost 70k Miles. So which one should I use?? Should I go synthetic?? I'm also looking at changing my tranny fluid...What should I use there?? And I'm putting in 3.73's soon...what is recommended for that?

i got mobil 1 in my motor and royal purple in my tranny and rearend. the weight depends on how the contions are in your state.

Use whatever the manufacturer's recommended weight is;which is 5w20 or 5w30 I believe. As for brand, if you want to spend a lot of money go with royal purple, redline or amisol. They're all excellend oils, but they're not a necessity. Synthetics are great, just stay away from the generic brands.

I use amisol in my transmission. It shifts like butter. Royal purple or redline would also be a good choice for the tranny.
