Stage 2 not 1 Cams???.lol HELP
I just bought Stage II comp cams part # 102600 XE-270ah. I was reading some articles from last week and seen that someone said PTV conact??? On a stage 1 cam? I am doing a PI swap along with the cams and realized I have a little less room in there with the 11cc piston and do know that comp cams are 4 degrees advanced! I'm not sure as to why I would have any problems since it's still .550 lift as long as I line up the links on my chains. Has anyone installed these cams or aybe the stage 2 cams? Can you tell me if you degreed them or just lined up the links? I know they make timing chain holders to get your camshafts out with only removing your valve cover, so why would you need to degree them if you keep everything aligned? Please help!!!

don't forget you'll need new valve springs for Stage 2

If you degree the cams properly you should have no ptv issues. The dish in the piston doesn't contribute to ptv contact. The valve will hit the outer edge of the piston regardless of the dish if there are ptv issues. Make sure you install them correctly and degree them and you should be fine.

RE: Stage 1 Cams??? HELP
they are highly recomended for a reason. companys dont spend lots of money to say bullsh*t like that for no reason. The point of putting a cam in, especially a stage 2 cam is so that you can make horsepower higher up in the RPM range. You are really pushing your luck with those stock springs at high RPM's. good luck, hopefully nothing will break.
