Hmm... is this a stock GT with a Roush CAI/Exhaust package? If so, what year? '05+ is different (not just body, but head design and power/torque as well), and the '96-'98s are comparative dogs (I know, they look good and CAN make good power, they just have farther to go). I would NOT recommend just slapping a blower/turbo on (especially if you keep turning up the boost. These cars can handle 6-8lb, but then they start to turn rods into projectiles)... and I agree with ZW99GT, N2O makes a bunch of little intake pieces everywhere... not funny for the guy behind the wheel.
Your exhaust (assuming it's a catback) and CAI are probably going to be worth about 15-20hp...ish
The 96-98 GTs made about 215rwhp stock, the 99-04s about 255, and the 05+ about 300. All these numbers are approximate, due to differences in dynos (Dynojet vs DynaPack vs Mustang Dyno) and differneces in testing conditions.

I would like to add to/respectfully disagree. Slapping a blower or a turbo on there is the best thing you can do to these car. As long as you stay right around 400rwhp. A Nitrous kit that is installed properly(and tuned) and used in moderation (~100hp shot) will cause no problems.

Also, 99-04 GT's made 220-230rwhp. The 05's are around 270ish. SSfinris is right about the difference in dynos. They all read different, and should be used as a tuning tool, not a device to make numbers to brag about.

well man its good to here that ur on the side of the blue oval now, all the info u have gotten sounds correct. i would not try and push the bottom end past 430-450 wheel. the block is good for over 500 though. if ur gonna build a motor, then i would say the 4v is the best way the teskid block holds over 1500, yes 1500 hp. the mod motors are a little more expensive than the pushrods ur used to, but easier to work on. good luck and welcome to mf

Wow!! Thanks for the repsonse guys, seem so much nicer then the camaroz28 guys =p
But anyways, low 400 rwhp sounds good to me like to keep the idle choppieness to a nil, unlike my other cars =(
Also, what is the HP gain w/ the Roush exhaust and cai, if any?
Is there any tuning software out there, example lt1/ls1 edit, tunercat...
Here is a list of bolt on's that I would like to get, gimmie some input on what brands would be best
1) exhaust-headers on back
2)pullies
3)Cold Air Intake
4)Tuning, either chips, hand held, tuner in FL area

Stay away from pullies (UDP's)if you plan on supercharging. There are programs available for purchase if you want to do your own tuning. I have several friends that use the SCT pro-racer package (www.sctflash.com) and tune their own vehicles and other's vehicles. There are a few others like diablosport, etc. You'll find that most tuners use SCT software for their dyno tuning. I guess this is because the user interface is easier and there are more options (I don't really know). But you can get the SCT software for under 800 bucks from several vendors.

Welcome to the Mustang world. I haven't upgraded my car yet, but from what I have read, Underdrive Pulleys and CAI are a waste of money. Just put the money towards exhaust and a blower. All of the info people have given you is great though. Hope you enjoy your stay in the world of 4.6.

the 96-98 was 225 bhp 190 rwhp, the 99-04 was 260 bhp 230 rwhp, and the s197's are 300 (underrated, more like 315ish) 260 rwhp.

a catback and cai will not net u 20 rwhp on a 2v, ur lookin at maybe 10 if u are lucky. however long tubes do wonders, and alot of the gains in the 2v come from a better torque curve and better throttle response. a full bolt on GT will be in the neighborhood of 270 rwhp.

im assuming u have the roush stage 1, so u arent going to much faster than a stock GT, ur just gunna look better
dont worry about intake mods until u decide on ur FI situation.

the great things about mustangs is that they are great track cars, able to turn great times with less hp than most cars.

the rear end is pretty stout, so u dont have to worry about that like u did with ur fbodies, however the tranny is kinda weak. if ur nice to it it will hold up for u tho.

i would say SC it up to 400 rwhp then put some major thought into suspension and then go have urself a badass street car. just because of the total package ive noticed that a 400 hp mustang is usually faster than a 400 hp fbody. ull eat up those cam only guys

side note: this is more true of the s197 because of the ungodly launching abilities of these cars. ive seen many many sub-2 second 60's on the skinny stock street tires.

gotta disagree there buddy, ive seen many many GT's run 10-12 psi on the stock bottom end and never have a problem. the main thing you need to worry about when goin FI, whether turbo, s/c, or nitrous, is the TUNE. that can be life or death of your engine.

I know the2v can only hold 430 hp. I had my on 12 psi of kenne bell and the two didnt last 3 months together, and the two had a nasty break up!
Get gears first it is like night and day

Hey thanks alot fellas for the info!!

Got the kind of info I was looking for, this mustang isnt going to be the 11 second daily driver, I did that for about 7 years in the F bodies and spent more time in my friends cars then my own. I'am just making an educated guess that the 400ish rwhp is just fine. Looks like Iam leaning towards a supercharger/75 shot for now, realy dont want to make this car a big project but just the thought of supercharger I know Iam heading in that direction =/

Also, exhaust for the Roush, who makes a bolt on kit to accomadated the side skirts?

boeing747arowair Iam in the Sarasota area

You'd be better off fabbing your own side-exit exhaust... Roush makes a proprietary catback for their side-skirts. Only theirs fits. My advice would be to cut out the mufflers entirely, and bend the pipe straight from the flange to the side exhaust outlet. 2 45º turns should do it...
