I think he means that 500-550HP is a bit of a stretch. It seems as if this guy's car is his DD, and even with H/C/I and exhaust, he probably wouldn't even be seeing 500hp at the crank, let alone the wheels.
How so? I have full bolt plus a cam, but not heads and I have a dyno proven 400 RWHP. And yes I can/do daily drive the car.

he is deffinatly right about the 500 hp easy. if he is stock and can drive, best he could run is about 13.7 @ 106. Those things spin like hell even with decent tires. Yea you just spent a crap load on performance parts. you really need to think about getting that power to the ground. do something about rear suspension too. If he has drag radials you are screwed...even if he is close to stock. sorry, just do the math.
350 > 281. he is bigger, more powerful, torquier, closer geared, and has a nasty rear suspension set up from factory!. i love my stang...but i wouldnt mind having one of those! get a dry nitrous kit if you can afford it, you have a few months to save up. 500 bucks for zex dry kit and its garentied you will toast him...and runn a low 12!
LS1 is a 346ci. Not a 350.

Oh then my bad, I thought that 400 to the wheels was a pretty average number for H/C/I LS1s. Guess its closer to 450.

all the LS motors respond very well to mods i saw a vid with a 99 SS just a cam, headers and and intake and he made 410 RWHP and 376RWTQ

bottom line is ur screwed the mods u have gotten, while good for the long run, are not going to beat the ls1. period. the ls1 is probably the best sb chevy has ever created, so its not like its a walk in the park. so u need either cams with that or some sort of f/i. so good luck

not to brag but i have yet to lose to an ls1. at the track if you have DR's, with the help of a good suspension, and a few bolt ons you wont have the first problem. thats not say that one wont come out and kill me. ive raced from a roll, and from a dig. i think the best race yet with an ls1 was with a t/a on the interstate one night. we stayed headlight to headlight from 50-110 or so.
