Bad Idle???????????
Hey I have a 1999 mustang GT and whenever I turn on the A/C the car idles like crap; as-if someone is messing with the throttle? Is there an easy way to fix this problem? Also my clutch is really hard to push in (compared to my dads ’64 ½ mustang with a zoom racing clutch) is this normal?
Thanks for your help,
Tyler

RE: Bad Idle???????????
wut do you mean by idles like crap? does it bounce around, or just drop a little. all cars idles will drop slightly when the AC is turned on. as for your clutch being hard to push in, is it still the stock one? there could bea bunch of reasons why its hard to push in.

I had the same thing start to happen. I still haven't fixed it. My A/C compressor clutch has now seized up. You are experiencing the beginnings of that, I think. My car rattles and squeeks now. $ soon to fix. Was thinking of maybe doing it myself, but I don't know much about A/C. I want to ssay you can swap the compressor clutch itself, but I'm not sure. If not, then the compreesor as a whole. not sure. good luck.

Maybe the belt is slipping, what about your Alt and battery, are you getting a good charge on both. Take your battery and alt in to Advanced and have them check it out.
