Default Couple Gear related questions (03vs00)

After driving another GT (03) I realized that mine (00) was dare i say WAY faster. Mine has 78k miles and this one was only rolling over at 28k. My car sports only a coulpe bolt on related mods from what I can tell.. K&N Air intake with cold box, Mufflers (flowmasters) and that about sums it up or so it would appear. It has lots of appearance mods... But I thought it was virtually stock.

This 03 I drove was quite a bit slower and seemed to accelerate way slower. It had an intake (don't know the brand) and that was about it. But I am not nieve enough to think my intake/exhaust did all that...... Is there a way to know if my gears have been changed? I am getting a maximum of 21mpg on the interstate too.. Any help would be appreciated.

I am by no meanse an expert, but if you're only getting 21 mpg on the interstate, then I believe (and hope) that your gears have been changed.

best way to tell for sure.. jack the rear end of your car up, put a piece of tape to mark your drive shaft, then turn your tires.. 1 full rotation of the tires will correspond to how many times the drive shaft goes around.. if the ds goes around a little over 4 times, 4.10, etc.

A car being loud makes most people think its faster... sure its not just in your head?

No the loudness wasn't a factor. It was the neck snapping factor / traction issues.
