The valves are too close together, thats a design flaw that is a compromise for the small 3.552 bore size of the modular engine. If the bore was larger like 4.0 on a 5.0Lthen the valves could be bigger and spread apart unshrouding them and flowing better.
The SVO/FRPP heads have relocated valves to promote better flow...these are your best option. And flow #'s don't alway = HP so don't get caught up in that.
