Gear Recomendation

I have a 02 GT. What kind of gears are recommended. I do not want to lose to much to end. I will also be adding a cam in the near future.

i think we all will recommend 4.10's if its a fun/weekend/track car

if its a DD might want to consider 3.73's or 3.90's

yeah i also plan on upgrading my gears as my next mod, i drive about 30 miles to work or so, so ill probably go with 3.73's, the 03 gt is a 5speed, just got to shop around and find a good deal on the install, been reading up on previous posts about gears and everyone seems to love them, cant wait! ... will the mpg change if i go to 3.73s? i seen where someone said expect about -2mpg with 4.10s

No point in even changing your gears. Unless your running a monster power adder.

I have a 98GT with 5 speed and4.10's at 80 mph I'm at 2600 - 2700 rpm. I also run a tall tire 55's to help with the gear reduction.

i did 3.73s, my buddie same car (we both have 02) did 4.10s i think the 3.73 is a much more drivable gear, but still makes a big difference in the long run, the 4.10s are a little steep for the 5 spd, and unless you have real good tires, i hope you like spining half way through the 3rd gear ha we race from stops all the time, almost same mods and im always side by side with him, if not half a lenth up
