I bought this chip (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-00...88142665QQrdZ1
lastweek for my 99 GT and it really actually works. Im now red lining at 38 mph in first gear and 62 in 2nd gear. It comes with 2 plastic/metal connectors that hook into your IAT sensor on the airbox. It's definitly worth the $40.00 I spent.

*The only other pre-mods that Ive done is a cai and https://mustangforums.com/m_1297650/tm.htm

whoops, I see you have a 98. There's chips for your year on ebay as well.

get you a set of gears dude. It wont add hp to your engine but it will give you the biggest increase inperformance you are going to get. Im not exactly sure on installation cost and what not though.

I did my PI swap for under $800 with used heads/intake.
paid $350 shipped for PI heads/cams and $125 shipped for newer PI intake...misc parts/gaskets new from Randy S on modular depot and total was under $800.
Now if a head swap is alittle out of your mechanical ability you could just do the PI intake and PI cams...
Livernois has a PI intake kit with adapters and everything for $499
http://livernoismotorsports.com/product.phtml?p=457

and you can find used PI cams for $100 and install them with a friend with this tool from Anderson Motorsports...can't direct link it so go to the website and click on anderson products then under chain tool

you won't gain much from a tuner...
you will gain a solid 30rwhp from the PI intake and PI cams.
