Thinking about geting a mustang i got some questions
Ok first off, I got about 18,000 to 20,000 to spend on a car. I want a car thats going to pretty dam quick and keep up to my friends camaro. I was thinking about geting ether a Cobra or GT.
How are these things for reliability?
Whats with everyone geting new gears for the rear end, do they break or is it just a performance modification?
How well can the GT engine handle a supercharger at low boost ?
If you got anything youd like to add that you think i should know but didnt ask go for it.

If you have $18000 to $20000 to spend on a car, you can do one of two things. Get a BUILT fox body that will give any car on the road a bad name or you could use the money on a new Cobra. Me, Personally... I would go for the new Cobra because I like the style a little better than the fox's.
People change they rearend for quicker acceleration from a take off such as in the 1/4 mile but at highway speeds the rpm's are a little higher.
The stock 4.6 cast iron block can handle up to 800 hp. The Aluminum block is a little less. The most boost you can put on stock internals is about 10psi. Its best to stick somewhere in the neighborhood of 8 to 9 though to stay safe. If you go any higher than 10, there is a good possibility that at high rpms you will throw a rod.
The reliability for the stang is great. I have put about 20,000 miles on my car in seven months and havent had any problems what so ever. The key to a good car is good maintenance. Do all the scheduled maintenance when due and change the oil a little earlier if you always race it like I do. LOL

This question has been asked before..hmmm, Dude if you only wanna beat a Maro then buy a Honda lol. I have under 2thousand in my car including cost and i have no probs with Maro's anymore unless they been beefed up. So you dont have to spend 20k to kill a Maro.

A stock cobra will dist off a SS. With $500 worth of mods you will be dusting off Vipers and so on. I would go with the Cobra. They already have forged internals so I would bump it up to 14 psi and if you mess it up just put the old pully back on and let the dealer fix it. LOL
