I do about 95% city driving, and I drive HARD. I usually see 13-15 mpg at the pumps.

do u always get ur gas at the same station, i have heard people around here try not to get their gas at a certain station because of the mileage difference on the same octane at other stations

alright well i'll cehck into if there was previously gears installed which i doubt since i bought it "FULL STOCK" but yeah i'll look...

someone said "unburnt fuel coming out of your exhaust" i think i do have some because of the little liquid that i see drippin' outta my exhaust tailpipes that then rust it up, that i had to sand off and polish ...

i have all the maitence done, my dad (mechanic) said my sensors are fine now, the only i have left for maitenence is the tranny flush which i'll do next weekend when i get a chacne to go to my dad's shop(iono if that affects my mpg)

thank you guys for your inputs, really appreciate it..

hmm.. I run my stang pretty hard and I have 116,000 miles and still get 18 mpg. I got a little better after I changed my plug wires because I had a little miss due to the fact that some of the spark was getting through the wires. It should be noticeable but you can check by popping your hood and looking at the wires real close at night. Mine were the stock wires from 97-98 and had never been changed. That could affect it but idk.. Just a suggestion..

only thing i could think of is take it to a shop and have them dyno it with a/f ratio its possible your running rich, but i doubt it like everyone said you need to lay off the gas. i get 14mpg city and 26 highway... gotta love bumper to bumper traffic[:@]

you could try to clean some of that carbon buildup by running some SEAFOAM through your intake and in the gas tank.....I do it every or every other oil change and it seams to crispen up the throttle and keeps everything smooth. I have a nearly stock 01 gt 5spd and with a mix of city and hwy i get 22 mpg...........Make sure to use high quality fluids.. I use the motorcraft 5w20 motor oil and royal purple in the tranny and rear end. I definatly think your milage should be better......maybe 32 psi in your tires is to low.....maybe try 35psi....good luck

well the 32PSI on my tires is what the label says on the door panel... its the "recommended" pressure

my intake is brand new so i doubt it needs cleaning, im goign to check into my gears and my sparkplug wires...

How's your performance? Without something other than your mpg it's hard to identify the source. Do you keep up with other non-PI stangs? Any hesitation, strange sounds, color of your plugs, unburnt fuel coming out of your exhaust, puddle of fuel under the tank in your driveway?

Right now, the only thing we can say for sure based on your info is that your mpg does need fixing.
"unburnt fuel coming out of your exhaust" i think i do have some because of the little liquid that i see drippin' outta my exhaust tailpipes that then rust it up, that i had to sand off and polish ... (this means... ?? )

i've ran a couple tests within the past 3weeks,
week1: coasting as much as possible on full tank=13mpg
week2: driving more aggressive/harder on fulll tank= 13mpg
week 3: combining both coast+ occasional aggressive drive still 13mpg
