I have one, it does a few things. One its lighter so it lightens the car, and also lightens the mass the engine has to turn. Two, it stronger than the stock one so when you start adding big hp, your ready for it. Do you really need, no, but its a mod, so do it.

Most people buy one because of vibration problems with factory driveshafts... They are lighter though, and look cool. I'd say think about a 3.73 3.90 or 4.10 rear gear. Choose between the three by deciding how many rpms you can stand in 5th. http://www.tchracing.com/tech/gearca...selectedgear=5

I have posted this before... but it looks like it needs saying again... I did the swap, now about a little less than a year ago. The drive shaft itself weighed the same as my stock cobra one, but there was a small difference in the yoke. I will say that it is stronger than the stock jobber, but how much HP do you need to twist one of those... my guess it that it is a whole heck of a lot more HP away than you can get by putting the money toward something that actually gets you closer to twisting that stock one... I don't know what kind of mods you have done, but this should be about # 10 or 20 on the list...

Get the driveshaft and gears done at the same time. Youll be in the differential anyway so it has to come off, kill two birds with one stone.

the stock one can take quite a bit but i replaced it when i did my clutch and tranny job. Killed a bunch of birds with one stone. I like mine because it helps reduce the vibrations you get with the stock one. Besides it seems to rev a lil quicker. No hp diffrence you will feel with it

Not going to hurt anything... but not really a good move unless you have some wicked HP. If you take that 250 dollars and spend it on some higher quality tires (than would have been bought), or bought some sub-frame connectors, or even a K&N filter and a nice evening out with the onesthat mean something, or so on and so forth you would get more horsepower to the ground... reducing the rotational mass is better acomplished by getting some lighter weightwheels or cross-drilledrotors.
