Default Steering question -please help

Hey everyone -

I bought a 03 GT with about 34,600 miles on it a few weeks back. It hasn't been in any wrecks (that were ever noted) or any major mechanical issues. But the steering feels a little weird. I’m not new with Fords but it seems as the mustang does this more then ever (or at least mine does!). When turning the wheel to the left, itresponds with a firm feeling and hasmoderate pressure pushing back on the wheel and the car stays nice and level. When turning the wheel to the right however, the wheel itself takes much less effort to turn and feels as though there islittle or no force pushing back on it, butthe carSTILL stays nice and level to the road (no tilt or drop in the front nose steering either way). I just do not understand why one way would feel different then turning the wheel thenanother.... All steering components have been looked at by mechanicals from tie rods to the steering rack itself and nothing is in "any shape to be concerned about". Suspension too...Also tires and wheel were aligned and balanced. Is it just the roads themselves? and why would the steering wheel be looser when turning to the right?

IS IT JUST A FORD FEATURE?!

Thanks allot for your responses -

Default RE: Steering question -please help

No, it is not just a Ford feature . Your problem is going to be the steering gear. Either there is a leak or clog in the fluid passage.
