Im going to buy gears and 50resto has a package with gears of any choice, royal purple, and an install kit for $256, i was just wondering if i really need the install kit? If not i can use the extra money to get a speed cal (im gonna need it sooner or later)

Yes.....the big pinion bearing will need to be replaced(has to be pulled off and sometimes gets destroyed)along with the race...(at the very least) a pinion seal and maybe you'll need a differnt pinion shim,or carrier shims to set backlash correctly...Which should come with a complete bearing,install kit...I'd personally change all the bearings and races.....do it right thefirst time....or you might be WHINNING later....LOL...
