Default I dont understand??

Why do most people think that long tubes are sooo much better then shorty headers. I was reading a article on long vs. short and it said that long only made a couple more hp and when you got into the 380 and up hp it really was better. So what i am saying is if you dont have close to 400 hp then you miht as well save th extra money and go with shortys.

i know what ur referring to, not the actual article but the concept, but also different motors react differently to this sort of thing, if it was on a 4.6l gt then i say save a little and go with the shorties

well i dont kno what ur reading, but from what i have been told and seen, the lt's out perfom the shorties everytime. and i would think the oppositte, once u hit the higher up hp, shorties kill the power, there is a member on here with a 357 w build up and has shorties and is makin 350 wheel, but with lt's he is hittin 380. so yea. i would read again.

How did you find your performance after you installed your shorties?

He never said the shorties perform better at lower power, he just meant that the power vs price gap between shorties and LT headers is insignificant at low power levels.

They outperform at ANY AND EVERY level. Do it right the first time. I have shorties on my car and they are KILLING me. I dynoed 320.22 at the rear wheels. I could get up to 330-335rwhp just from going to LT's from shorties. They SUCK

I have shorties on my car. I didnt install them, they were on the car when I got it, but the guy who had it before me said they opened it up way more. My car also sounds a lot deeper than most with the same exhaust setup I have, minus headers. I get a lot of compliments on how good my car sounds.
