how is a prebuilt block not as strong as when you build it yourself?

they build it with the same parts and its professionals building the motor instead of amatuers.

yep. as i said, i'd rather pay a professional that extra $500 or so to build it right the first time. MMR warranties their blocks too, so if it IS screwed up, they'll replace it.

I guess it seems alot cheaper but when you acutally do the math and add all the little stuff up your about the same.

Oh well, as soon as the CC gets paid off

ohh ok... i didnt know if you were talking about claxton machine shop in knoxville... claxton has very cheap prices also.

I agree! I'm fairly mechanically inclined but I'd not want to get involved with piecing a block together and have it come out f*cked up!

thats what i was afraid of... so i just bought the short block and im building it from there... the only thing i can mess up now is with PTV.. haha

haha yea i think thanks for all the input guys i think im going to just buy a GT SPORTSMAN shortblock from VT and go from there idk yet.. because i do wanan put one together and know how it fully goes and i can say i did it all myself because my dad will be watchin over me and tellin me if i did something wrong and what not. but i may jus take the somewhat easy way out.
