I have an 04 GT and my mods so far r what r listed in my sig. My neighbor has n 97 SS Camaro 6 speed with just a K&N and Nittos it's the LT1 tho not the LS1 and he wants to race me and his saying how he is going to walk all over me cuz he's the type of person who thinks everything he has is better than everybody else's well in case u couldn't guess it i want to make him eat his own words. So what do u guys think I should do to beat him I already have Mickey Thompson ET streets but I was thinking of getting some Lakewood traction action bars, uppers,and some sub frame connectors so that way I can hook up real well. Do u guys think this should b enough or should I maybey also order my 4:10s early? any input would b greatly appreticiated thanks.

Every LT1 camaro I raced was either a drivers race or I won (stock for stock).

Assuming equal drivers and your basically stock cars (neither really has any signficant power mods) I think you should win with the superior tires.

Edit: Get the gears before all that other stuff and seal the deal!

+1....get the gears if you want a good insurence policy...but i think you got this one............Lt1's are turds compared to the Ls1. My Gf's brother has a 1996 Camaro Lt1 with exhaust and intake and my stock 2000 Camaro z28 murdered it

yeah LT1 isn't to threat if you havea PI mustang, my buddy has a 95 Z28 and when he gets on itfrom a digit feels just as fast as my 96 GT, probably only cause i have 3:73's that launch me real good compared to his stock gears.

i have never lost to an lt1....its a drivers race. gears should do it but but some suspension and tires would help tremendously

A stock LT1 should put a hurting on a stock NPI car. Its a drivers race between a LT1 and a PI GT... but the above guy should win with his much stickeyer tires.

well off the line i know i'd take an auto LT1 like my friends cause even with my 3:73's my tires still grip and go while he's spinning his, but down the line yeah i would suppose the LT1 would blow by

(uhhh hmmm clearing throat) Welll.... I just happen to have a video... This was in my buddys 04 GT 5 speed. racing a 90 something LT1 Trans Am auto. They are both stock other than mufflers..

Then I raced the t/a in my car.. I put about a length inbetween us but the farther we went the more he narrowed the gap.. I'll try to get that video soon..
