Not a thing for performance. I believe there is an issue with some plastic manifolds cracking in that area so that manifold has it replced with an aluminum section. Check the TSB's above or do a search on cracking intake manifolds. Mark

It's a stock intake manifold with aluminum cross over so it won't crack and leak coolant. That's what happened to my stock intake and I will be ordering one of those with the aluminum cross over.

My '99 has the original plastic intake crossover, was there a recall or is it just a do it yourself deal? Thanks, Mark

I just had to put one of them on my car last week. Its just an updated model. You can go to a ford dealer and get one for 180 w/o gaskets.

Yeah mine cracked and leaked now I have to replace it. I called a few Ford dealerships and they said there wasn't recall but an extention on the warrentee with them, but it expired last year. So I'm just ordering the aluminum-cross over manifold for $200.

Yeak ford racing makes them. The front runner on the 99-01 were known for cracking cause they were all plastic. This is the mew updated model.

Sweet I'm calling the Ford dealership today and going to get one. Unless it needs to be ordered by them which I will be waiting for a couple weeks lol.
