On the driver side, use the reducer that comes with the newpipe. On the passenger side, use the metal gasket that is on the factory pipe (between the manifold and midpipe) Make sure you have a long extension and swivelto get to the bolts on the passenger side. Unplug the 02 sensors, drop the pipe and thentake them off.

it should have came with the gasket you need i just did a mac x today. i put the red hi temp rtv on the gasket and dont tighten all the bolts untill everything is lined up or you will have to loosen the pipe from the headers. i put the pipes on the headers first then the third middle section after all was lined up and all nuts and bolts attached then i tighten them all down starting on passager side( the one with the rtv) it also helps if you remove your starter(should be the first thing after jacking it up) hope that helps and have fun good luck its not hard

get a seperate hydraulic jack.. to jack up the midpipe while your bolting it up this way you can be assured the pipe is completely flush on the exhaust manifold...

good look on the passenger side. as for the gasket... putsome tape in it to hold it in place. it doesnt matter its going to burn out after its heated up. very important to align everything before doing the final tightening.

if the factory gasket doesnt look bad, reuse the thing. if not, get another factory gasket. the mac gasket is ****. I reused the factory gasket, it worked fine for me. (I had used the mac gasket and immediatly got an exhaust leak, AND i lined it up correctly.

Sometimes those header to midpipe bolts can be a PITA. Get some PB Blaster (NOT WD40) and spray the hell out of it... they'll come off mighty easy! Of course PB Blaster doesnt evap, so it'll smell for about 10 mins after you heat the car up, then it goes away :P

The passenger side gasket cost $9 and change from the dealer, relatively cheap OEM replacement.

No need to remove the starter. Removing the starter is a MUCH harder job because of the bolt locations (I just went through the hassle). Get about 18-24" worth of extensions, a swivel joint and a 15mm deep socket. Use pb blaster as previously stated about 1/2hr before on the nuts. Then get under there and crank away.
