Default Oil Question

im thinking about switching over to synthetic oil, ive been using pennzoil for a while now. what do you guys recommend? im leaning towards Mobil 1 correct me if im wrong.

Hey a lot of us run mobil-1 synth. 5w-30 thats what I run with a k&n filter, I would use any oil filter really other than fram its all preference but def a good dec. on oil...Dan

You really can't go wrong with anything motocraft. If all else fails just stick to the original equipment right? For synth you'll find that most of us use either Mobil 1 or Royal Purple. Which one is up to you, there really is no difference between the two when it comes right down to it. Nothing you'll ever notice anyway. I use Royal Purple and a Pure One filter.

You may see a slight increase in both power and economy, but I wouldn't place a wager on it. My dad did gain 2mpg with his '92 Explorer when he switched to Amsoil at 140k. I haven't noticed any differences on my vehicles, but they all have had newer engines than that.

i would also consider Castrol Synec...its good oil. Thats what im using along with a Motorcraft oil filter

not tryin to steal the thread or anything but im about to attempt my first oil change. and my dad isnt answerin his phone. but do i fill the oil filter with oil then put it on.. some say jus lube it then put it
