I have been thinking about a Pypes catted X. How easy do you think it would be based on your install to remove this every few years for Ca. Smog purposes?

Ehhh...I don't know. I took it to a shop, its been too cold here for me to mess with it and I don't have a garage. If you are only changing it every few years though, I would guess it wouldn't be a problem at all. Guys here say a midpipe install is relatively simple, it cost me $100.


As a side note, as of yet, my CEL hasn't come on. I still guess it probably will, but I expected it almost immediately.

$100 for a midpipe install!?? Wow dude.. i got mine installed for $15. And yes that was by a shop.

Yeah, I thought it was high too. It beat the previous $125 quote. The guy I took it to at first told me it would be somewhere between $50-100. When I picked up the car he said "He knew why the other guy wanted $125" He said the O2 sensors were a big PITA... This guy came HIGHLY recommended by everyone I talked to, I don't know what was so hard about it. I know if I had a lift and a heated garage I could have done it pretty easily, and I have NO experience working on exhaust. [&:]
