a buddy of mine sold a car and the lady wanted a normal shifter so we swaped out and the B&Mi got hasa little grinding in 1st and 5th... do the bump stops need to go out or in?

Please advise i've never messed with short throw shifters

Remove the stops and see if it solves the problem.

If not, put the car in neutral. Remove all shifter bolts, remove shifter & re-install.

What year GT did the B&M come from?

i believe it came off a 2000 so that would be the same as mine... the 3650 tranny has a smaller plate right>? more square then rectangle.......

i tried everything almost i will try some more tommorrow but 5th and 3 rd are grinding very quietly will i harm tranny??

if i take the stops out will pushing shifter that much further really damage tranny because i am sure if i back out all the way it will go away then again tonight in 5th if i pulled a hair towards me it would quit so i will tighten bolt a little and see how it works

Also you can try messing with the neutral position by flipping the little washers by the 4 holes where it bolts onto the tranny.
