K&N Air Intake Question

K&N Air Intake Question
I'm considering buying a K&N Air Intake for my 04 Mustang GT and found 2 that are supposed to fit. But I'm a little confused about which one to get.
The Typhoon delivers 6.81hp increase at 4600 RPM and runs about $275.
The FIPK delivers 10hp at 4945 RPM and runs about $250.
Which one of these Air Intakes would be the better choice? Or is there a different manufacturer/model that would be an even better choice for a Cold Air Intake altogether?
Thanks.

RE: K&N Air Filter Question
Manufacturers claims are usually overexaggerated...I doubt you will see 10 rwhp.
I've heard good things about JLT Cold Air Intakes....and I think they are a little cheaper too.

RE: K&N Air Filter Question
Tunable Inductions FTW. I love the kit and John is one hell of a good guy. His painter is top notch if you should chose to go with a custom color. I have had two systems from TI and I have no complaints at all.
Just my opinion. Your results may vary.

RE: K&N Air Filter Question
if your car is stock, do not even spend that much for an intake. itwill do nothing for you. take off the air silencer, and put a K&N air FILTER in there, and theres your $25 air intake.its basically the same thing as a regular intake.save your money for something bigger, like gears. do a little research on this site, and read some of the threads, you'll learn ALOT.

RE: K&N Air Filter Question
LOL thats what I did, and since I am superchargering it this summer i didnt want to spend the money, just to take it off when I get my supercharger. With the air filter/silencer delete i noticed a small throttle responds, I was happy, the mod only cost me the price of an airfilter..

RE: K&N Air Filter Question
It's stock right now. I'm looking to do some upgrades on it sometime in the near future. I'm just worried about 2 things.
1.) The car is still under warranty and I was told that certain modifications can void my warranty, which I don't want to happen.
2.) The car is an automatic so I'm not sure what modifications can be done as a result of that either.
I do know that I'd like to make some modifications though so any advice would be appreciated.

RE: K&N Air Filter Question
Where did you see those K&N intakes for those prices at? Those prices seem a little bit high. You shouldshop around more to find a cheaper price. I'm sureone of our sponsors will have it for a price cheaper than those. If K&N is what you want, I suggest you go with the FIPK, it's cheaper and more people on this site seem tohave it opposed to the Typhoon Kit.
But if you're looking for a high quality intake that gives you added performance, I highly recommend JLT. There's tons of satisfied JLT customers on this site. The intakes arehigh quality, perform well, and look even better. You can't go wrong with it.

RE: K&N Air Intake Question
I gave $81.00 for my K&N on ebay. You will not see that big of difference it takes more mods than just a CAI. To see big gains you have to change the plenum and throttle body with that CAI.
