i have a 99 cobra with a magnaflow exhaust only:
i want to get 4.10 gears, what kind should i get? what kind of rear fluid do i need to have the shop put in after the swap? i also will purchase an off road X-pipe, what kind should i get? i see them on ebay for darn cheap. i know basanni is the best, but for 300? please.
it was just my 22nd birthday so i have some extra cash lying around.
if there is another route i should go, go on ahead and tell the newbie. thanks guys!! love the forum.

RE: newbie help please
i would get some frpp gears and get some type of synthetic oil along with the friction modifier, and as for the x-pipe try www.pypesexhaust.com or maybe summit or jegs to see if you can get it cheaper

For gears go with Ford Racing. If you are gonna mess with your mid pipe then you need to think if you want to do headers in the near future because stock manifolds and LT headers use different mid pipes. The one for the LT headers is a shortie pipe. The 32V with a good X and magnaflows will be a bad @$$ combination.

without cats, where do i need to go to get the MILs i think?
i live in tallahassee, i may have to drive up to see MDvaldosta and ask him what shop he uses. i am kinda worried about the gear swap because i dont know of any shops that have done this before.

Regular Ford gears and Ford racing are the same parts... they slap a motorsport sticker on them and charge more. I think 4.10s are the way to go or atleast 3.90s, It's just not worth the work/money/aggrevation otherwise. If you can spare cash for a tuner, get that. You'll need some sort of recalibration for your speedo/odometer anyway and a good tuner will be something you use over and over again.
An aftermarket intake might be another route to go for a decent gain for your money.
