You can find a 99/01 Cobra for that... You can also find a very nice SN95 Cobra for around 8-10k and i mean low miles, immaculate things like that... If you want to go fast, and you have the ability to - get the Cobra for the 4v motor... Whether it's a 98 or a 2001...

Just be patient. Wait for low mileage and the exact car you want. I got my 2000 GT with 10,500 miles on it from a dealer for $10,900. But I think it may also depend on your location. I have never seen cars for a cheap as people say on here. It seems like around where I am cars tend to be a bit more. I don't know why.

jmac, it really is market based. There were 03/04 Cobras selling for 22k in some parts of the country, but anywhere in Fla, they couldn't be touched for under 24-25k.
I would look on places like svtperformance.com, corral.net, and m o d u l a r f o r d s . c o m. They normally have pretty decently priced cars, and they're car whackos so they're normally pretty well taken care of.

You've got alot of money to work with if you have 10K in cash. Look for something in teh 10-12 range like you said and put down about 8, finance the other 4-5K you'll be looking at 150's a month, and you'll have a good 2-3K right away to play with for beginner mods.
That's gonna put you into nice low mileage for ANY New Edge GT... or you could look into mild mileage Mach 1's.. They go for high teens with about 20K's in mileage..
Just search. And like said before, no such thing as too patient when it comes to shopping for a Mustang.
