Default Looking to buy a mustang

Hello everyone I'm new here. I currently drive a 3.0L Ranger and its too slow, so I'm thinking about selling it and getting a mustang. I am looking for a coupe from 01 to 04 with a 4.6L. I'm just looking for some advise on what to look forand check for while I'm searching for one. What are some common problems that I should be aware of. When I bought my Ranger the cheat I bought it from filled it up with 93 octane to keep it from pinging. I'm looking to spend about 13 to 15k. Any advise would be well appreciated.

With 13-15k you definitely could find an 03-04 with low mileage on it. Just make sure to run a carfax and have a mechanic look at it. I love my new stang I bought last December, but didn't care for the stock exhaust and gears. Those might be first mods you might want to when you buy the car, unless they're already done which would be cool.

I've seen some 99/01 Cobras near that price range. Might want to keep that in mind because 32 valves>16

Before late 01 they had a T-45

Man I would love a cobra but Ikind of want a new car or newish. I've saved up about 10k and will sell my truck for the rest of the needed money. I will keep my eye out for a cobra. I really want to get a modern mustang. I've rebuilt 4 mustangs with my grandfather they were all classics, now I want to build up a modern one. Where I live there are a ton of ricers and I would just love to drive a mustang around and watch the look on those ricer's faces when I leave them in the dust.

I agree on the 99/01 Cobra because they will respond much better to mods than a 2v GT will.

looked on kbb.com:
a 1999 Mustang Cobra w/ 65,000 miles is goinf to run you about 11 to 12 grand
and i'm sure you could get one that looks brand new
you would definitely not look at it and think "gee, i wish iwould have gotten a newer car that was slower."
i would have got that if it weren't for the million dollar insurance i would have to pay since i'm only 18.
