??12's??

Ok this summer...I plan to do all my suspension which includes of....adjustable struts/shocks,lower/upper control arms, sway bars, lowering springs, panhard bar, k-member, subframe connectors and I think thats it. I will hopefully be getting gears in may (4.10s). Then sometime later in the year, I want to get a pi engine and put lt's and cams. I also plan to get DR's very soon. Do you think with all of this I could get into 12's? Might take like 10 runs at the track but I think I could do it...

ha- people are very disapointed when they accually get to the track

you can go a full suspention and gears with a real exhaust with drag radials(useless at your stage) with a pi engine with "bolt ons" and youll probly get down to a mid13... on a good day, you could probly go to the track right now with a 275 street tire on the rear with how sticky a accual drag track is, youll probly chirp em off the line and thats it, if you want to runs 12s id plan on a full 400whp pi engine with mild suspension mods and drag radials

you didnt mention anything about the front suspention

dont bother with all of that suspention stuff unti you need it-

whats your budget on this? your basically talking about redoing the entire car your going to want to beef up the rear end alittle, good luck with the trans in your car, plus you need to upgrade your brakes, yes the stock ones work good.. for now but you need to keep the car ballenced- you dont need better brakes until its too late

a fox body would be much better suited for a high school budget build- take how much you think it will cost and double it and thats what you can expect to pay on your car all of the little stuff adds up, those "kits" dont include all of the parts you will brake because of it- not to mention that a fox body has so much of a more badd asss muscle car look than a 94-98, trust me, ive done the whole build up with this body style and it wasnt worth it, if i could do it again, it would be in a fox, i know there expensive but a cheap one will come around- the sn195 is the uggliest stang since the 70s, its way too round, you might like it but you like it because its yours, i have heard so many people say how ugly that car is, it should belong to a 16 year old girl, be convertable, red with a flower on the side- i know the v8s are diferent but the body is the same

i will say that you can do it, i know people with those mods doing it now, with a pi motor with cams lt and all mods and drs you should be high 12s low 13 on a good night!

From what I've read and seen it is pretty possible. Just gonna take alot of trial and error. And around my area you very rarely find a good foxbody. Most of them are 6,000$ and up with 120k on the odometer. For my age also I make good money. The reason I bought this car, is because I love the bodystyle. And I figured what I could do to it for a reasonable amount. I got my car for 4,000$. The kbb at the time was 5500$ in my area...And I did include things on my front suspension. K-member, struts. And as far as the tranny goes. If it goes I upgrade. For the rearend I plan to upgrade to a locker and 31 spline axles. brakes at the moment will be fine. But most likely will upgrade them also. Most people dont realize it. But suspension is key. Ya I might barely chirp off the line with DR's, but weight transfer plays a big factor in this matter.

yea, ure a dumbass what are you buying for front struts? there is a big diference between stiff road racing struts and drag race struts- and if your looking to get in the 12s id take off the panhard bar and sway bars, not buy new ones

foxes are the same here, but a good deal comes around every once in a while, i just missed on a deal for a 80k mile 89 lx 5.0 man BONE stock for 3800, another guy beat me to it by hours

fox is the way to go, with just suspension alone u can hit 12's on the stock n/a motor, and gears. but with the setup ur tryin i would say a 12.8 12.9 would be possible plus how much u lookin to spend, all thats gonna run u over 3 grand at the least, plan on more than that.. but think of this, a fox with any amount of miles and a stock motor, with just about 2000 or so give or take a couple hundred u can hit 12's. but thats just my 2 cents. good luck

dude, mustang2two22 quit bein so harsh, what makes him a dumbass for asking an opinion as to whether he can make it in the 12's or not? i can see where your comming from by sayin to get a fox, but his car with pi swap with aftermarket cams and a good suspension set up will get him in the 12's as long as he has gears and other supporting mods and some great driving
