how reliable is the 4.6

RE: how reliable is the 4.6
you should consider getting a 99 or above due to the PI swap, this gives the car like 40-50 more horses (i forget what the 98 was puttin out). if you just like the looks better and you are not worried about the power then whatever... anyway i have had to change the tranny, clutch, andwindow so far but never had any problems with the engine.

its not going to last 300,000 miles if you dont do the service... oil, brakes, tires, tranny, differential, air filter, spark plugs, power steering etc. if you take car of the car it will last years even decades you will run into the occasional bad battery or alternator, but beyond that a 4.6 with 200,000 miles may be worth nothing on KBB, but if it was taken care of, itll outlast alot of newer cars.

Ive got a 98' with 128,000 and some change and she still runs like a top. I beat the hell out of it. I change the oil every 2,000 miles with mobil 1 and clean the K & N regularly. Thats all i do and it still runs great. Is there a point where the miles get to high that its not a good idea to supercharge the 4.6
