are the 4.6 GTs reliable or do they have alot of problems?

They are very reliable in NA form. I had a 98 gt with 190,000 miles and only changed the alternator and plastic intake.

Yeah that damn plastic intake cracks.

Mine cracked right where the coolant elbow is.

Same here, it's getting replaced this week now that temps are going up, along with the heads getting pulled and reconditioned.

If your getting your heads pulled you should have them ported while there out.

Yup I deff am!! Thanks though. I just wish I had money for cams and LTs while everything is apart.

Well, at least you don't have to pull the heads to install cams and longtubes.

Yes, the 4.6 is a good motor. I know a few people that have had their mustangs for a long time and no problems yet. It seem that if you don't screw with the engine too much, it will last you a long time. It is when you start running 150 shots of Nitrus into them they start getting tempermental.

4.6 = VERY reliable.

taxi cabs have the same motor, I've seen them up to 350000 miles with no problem.
