when they say they suck they are probably referring to the ability to hold up to much higher hp/tq numbers then stock, the T45/3650 are not designed for the amount of power a supercharged GT (for example) is going to yield, however if you dont ever plan on achieving this kind of power and only plan on doing some basic bolt ons then you should be alright, assuming you dont drive it like you stole it too often. Also you may want to look into getting a short throw shifter, this will lessen the wear/pressure the tranny is under
