Default C4 in a 4.6! How reliable??

Im having trouble with my auto GT (2003). I can get a Street/Strip C4 for like $400 less than a new 4r70w trans. How reliable would this be? I know you have to buy an adaptor plate/bellhousing. Other than that what else?

Bare minimum would be:
Driveshaft
Shifter
Your speedo prolly wont work
If it was just a strip car then maybe, but if your gonna drive it on the street then forget it and buy a 4r70.

I only know 1 person who runs a C4 in his 4.6
His name is Jim Fitzgerald and is a moderater over on www.modularpowerhouse.com
His car is a KB 2.8 that runs in the 9's and he would be the best person to ask and he is a nice guy and would help you out better then those of us who don't actually have the C4 in our cars. Go over there and shoot him a PM or make a thread in the 2V area which i'm sure he will answer in.
