Stock Internals
For those of you with supercharged stangs with stock internals(non forged) are you guys worried about your bottom end? I have been contemplating getting a s/c but am worried about my internals because i have heard from many people that you are running a high risk, even on a conservative tune. Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Stock Internals
I don't have a s/c, wish i did, haha...but I hear lots of people saying the stock internals are fine for 8 to 9 psi, but if you are exceeding that, may want to think about forged interals. But if your engine has high miles, I'd definitely yank it out and rebuild it before you start putting any supercharger added HP to it. Last thing you'll want is to damage your block because of piston or connecting rod failure...

theres a guy at that goes to my local track who has pretty much a stock 2002 gt cept he has a vortech running at 10#'s with the aftercooler(and the necessary fuel requirements).... he consistantly runs high 11's which impressed me, i just feel like one day his block is gonna blow!

RE: Stock Internals
There are a few guys around here that have been running over 10PSI for more than 20k miles on stock internals, no problems. Just get a good tune and keep it in the 8-10 psi range. Charge coolers will allow you to run a little more boost. Its not so much the HP or TQ that kills the internals (of course there is a point of to much), its more heat and detonation.
