How do I know if I have a pi or npi without disassembly? Is there a certain date/model change that lets you know?

96-98 came stock as NPI, 99+ are PI.

Is it a direct swap, just take the heads of a 99-04 with the internals and slap it in a 96-98. Do you need the intake too? Just asking cause I might do b4 summer if it is a direct bolt on that needs no modification, and can any person with minimal mechanics exp do it.

Dont forget that you can swap out the old intake manifold and cams n get pi ones for around 300-350, which should make around 35 rwhp, less work, cheaper, not bad for the price. Remember that there still is some custom work though.

Can you re-use 96-98 MAC lt headers with the PI heads?
