just get your heads ported... it will be much cheaper... it cost me 920 to get my heads stage 3 ported with oversized stainless steel valves from MMR

reallly i did not know that.. soo instead of spending almost 2 grand on a new set of VT heads i could jus port my old heads instead and save almost a G or more. do i still get the same power from buying new heads or whats the main difference.

all i set of "aftermarket heads" are is a set of stock ported PI FORD heads with porting and all new parts in them. some come with bronze valve guides and also stainless steel valves... its much cheaper to get the stock heads reworked...

I have Patriot Stage 3's on my car. I could have probably been just fine with a nice stage 2 set, or a custom job, but I am just happy with the 3's.

yea, you can send them to MMR (where i sent mine), VT, or a place like steen racing... MMR is the cheapest i could find out of the bigger companies..

Yup, I used the search function and this was the most relevant thread...

however i have a question to add to this.... In the 5.0 mag i just got they have Patriot stage 3 heads cheaper than stage 2. Why would this be?

were the heads fully assembled? that's the only reason i can think of that the stage 3 would have been cheaper.. if the stage 2 were fully assembled and the stage 3 were bare. Patriot advertises their stage 2 assembled heads at $1295 and their stage 3 assembled at $1495. or maybe they got a pair of stage 3 heads on sale or through a special promotion or something like that.
