Just wondering what guys around IL have for tint on their mustangs and how much it cost. I really need to get and would love a few pointers...

The window tint i had put on my 04 GT cost $150.I went with the lifetime guarantee stuff that isn't supposed to fade into a purplish color.The degree of tint depends on whether you can get away with the darker stuff or not.Around here,once the cops give you the first ticket for tint you become marked,and the tickets come more frequently.

Had mine done, all windows + windshield strip for $220 with a lifetime guarantee. Just gotta watch for the cops. Some will be dicks and some wont. All depends. Keep windows down as much as possible in the day.Any tint on the driver and passenger door is illegeal here. (as you know) I`ve had my windows tinted on all of my cars since 94 and only got stopped 2 times for it andnever removed it.

I got my side windows tinted to 5% just two days ago. I took off the original tint when I got the car (fearing of cops)...but I missed it so much that I had it put back on. Hahaha.

The place that did it is called "Chrome Shack" (I think)...They did an awesome job and it has a lifetime guarantee. I will be going back there soon. My buddy had his GTP's rear windows tinted there, too.

$50.00 flat for the side windows. Of course the back window costs more and the rear quarter windows cost extra.

i have 35%. it came with the car. i think its too light. if i had a choice, 20% would be perfect.

so could you get away with 35% tint...being that its not too dark.

I'm in IL as well, and I'm in the same boat. I dont want to get different tint on the sides windows than on the back, so I'm thinking 20 all around. I only drive it in the summer, so the wndows are almost always down. Plus, although cops are supposedly dicks about it around here, my neighbor has a 02 Camaro SS with long tubes, no cats, and a catback (loud as hell), drives like he wants a ticket, and has 3%. He's had it on for 2 years and only got a warning for tint from a state trooper on the expressway.

Where should I go to get it done? I am in northern IL about 35 miles outside of Chicago near Elgin if that helps at all...
