1999 cobra
 

some guy that i know recently put a kenne bell supercharger on his 03 cobra...he is now making somewhre around 600rwhp..it is a stock motor and other than that he only has bolt ons...he is also making 18psi...i was wondering if you took a 02 or lower cobra and simply put a kenne bell supercharger on it would you be able to make the same power? and also i know in 99 is when the mustang gt started to come with the pi heads....do are the 98 cobras antdifferent than the 99 and up?

Terminators came with all forged internals stock from the factory because they came with so much power right off the bat, while earlier cobras came with cast internals. You would need to get yourself internals to handle that much boost and that much horsepower.

to answer ur question yea u would get similar results, but like he said it wont last long if it even makes it through a couple dyno runs

how much hp could a stock 99 cobra motor hold? and do the 99 have irs?

the 99-01 cobras can handle olmost the same amount as 99-04 gt's before you will have a problem with the internals. so no, you wont even be close to the power of a 03-04. btw they didnt make cobras in 02

+1 you can make that power, but get a forged setup first or its gonna be short dyno tune after the install.:)

the 99-01 had a forged crank, thats it...and their weak point is the connecting rods. The heads are also not as free flowing. The 96-98 though are the same way except; they have an extremely strong block, not internals, and their heads flow in higher rpms better than 99-01's which helps with the secondary runner intake set up. the 99-01 do have irs just like the 03-04.

what do u mean they only made cobra Rs in 02? i thought is was 2000 and i didnt even say anything abour a cobra R...i asked about irs the suspension
