Default What do you guys think????

Ok well as some of you know I have a 04' Mach 1 motor in my 97' GT. The motor has about 28k on it. Ok the plan is an ATI, intercooler, bore the block out 0.020, use my stock crank, forged piston, forged rods, (heads and cams I'm still up in the air with). So my question is, do you guys think I should buy a kit (rods and pistons)? Also where would be a good place to get them? The reason I want to start to buy things is because I have some money and its just burning me up. I want to spend it on my baby before I spend it somewhere else. The stang comes before anything else, girlfriends, vacation. Its right up there next to family. LOL. I know some of you are the same way.

If you plan on forging the motor, why didn't you just buy a built short block?

do they even make heads for the 4v?

and yea get a kit, the block is good for more power than u will ever be able to dish out, so a good forged kit will do u wonders. then put a huge turbo on it.

Well when I bought this motor i didn't plan on doing the motor. I figured I would drive the car for a year and then through a blower on it. Now I figure let me just build the motor so it can withstand the power I want. The only 4v heads I know that they make are the fr500 otherwise send mine out to get p&p. I'm still up in the air if I should do the heads or not. I remember seeing somewhere a guy had a built motor, cams and a blower, with stock heads and was making a sh*t load of power. But where is a good place to get a forged kit?

You really don't need to do any head work.

What are your HP goals?

Your Mach 1 motor came out of a 5 speed car right?

Yes the Mach 1 motor came out of a 5spd. My goals are around 500 at the wheels. You think thats possible with stock heads?
