Default 99-04 stock 17" OEM Bullitt wheel question?

I amcurrently am running the stock setup of 245/45/17 and I am thinking about getting new tires. What is the width of this rim(8"or 9")and what is the largest width tire you are running with no problems? I would like to run 265 or 275. Let me know.

The wheels are 8" wide. When I look at tires and what rims they work with I like to got to Tirerack.com and look at the specs of the tire. It will tell you what widths the tire will work with and what width they recommend.

They are 8" and you can run a 275 series tire on them with a little bulge.. nothing to be worried about..

I had 275/40/17 Demon Tires (generic brand) on my stock rims. They looked nice, and lined up really well with the rear fender.

Does anyone have a pic of a 275 tire on a stock bullitt rim? I am curious to see how they look on a 8" rim.

I know they arent the greatest, but this is the best i have. 245/45/17 on the front, 275/40/17 on the rear.

They would fit, but look a bit stretched. On a 17x9 rim, I would go either 265 or 275. More likely than not, you're gonna want 275's, cheper and easier to find.
