Can you go into REDLINE with a SCT Tune?
I used to have a Focus SVT and when I got my SCT tuner and flashed my car, I was able to go all the way through the redline till the end...
is this also possible with our stangs?

thats odd....I would think that we get alot more power on higher rpms, so the longer we can stay there without shifting the better...
at least thats how my stang feels when it pulls past 2800rpm...

i wouldnt i mean you can set your rev limiter back or turn it off i think but i wouldnt unless you have some sort of mod to let it rev higher ie, springs, cams, etc

Theres really no power to be had past 6000 RPMs on a stock block GT. Even if there was, the stock motor isn't going to enjoy being spun to 7000 RPMs for very long. This is why people who want to upgrade to a maybe a stage 2 , or definately a stage 3, cam need to forge their motor to get the full potential out of their upgrades. The stock heads wont flow enough to get you to make any power over 6grand on the stock motor. If you look at any dyno graph of a stock GT, look and see how the power goes after 5500 RPMs. Upgrading to ported heads, different cams, and a better intake manifold will allow more power to be made higher in the RPM range.. with this obviously comes the need to be able to spin the shortblock up past the safe limits of the stock one.

i see....do you have a dyno of a stock gt?? so even if theres not much power after 6000rpm, if i was able to go all the way through redline, wouldnt I make better 1/4 runs?

Do you already have times in your car? You will most likely run slower by shifting at 6500 RPM with your mods. Try different shift points between runs.. try 5600, 5800, 6k. A big factor in your 1/4 time will be your 60ft time. Every tenth of a second you drop from that equals about 2 tenths from your overall time.
