Default RE: lowering springs

Start with the front. Jack both sides up by the frame, remove the wheels, brake calipers (hang em off to the side), caliper brackets, rotors, abs sensor, tie rod, and sway bar link. Put a jack under the a-arms and remove the two lower strut bolts and slowly lower the a-arm down with the jack. Then, just push the a-arm down with your foot and use a tire iron or breaker bar and pop the spring out (don't worry theirs hardly any pressure on it). The new lowering springs will go in easily, just decide if you want the rubber isolators back on the springs or not (they will raise ride height by about 1/4" each - their their to prevent noise but I doubt you'll get any either way). Make sure the lower part of the spring is seated into the groove on the a-arm.

Now the rear, jack it up and remove the sway bar from the lower control arms. Put a jack under the control arm on the shock side of it (by the rear end), and remove the lower control arm bolt. Lower the control arm till the spring falls out. Put the new spring in with the botton coils facing the drivers side (like the stock ones are).

Simple enough, not internet site or spring compressor needed

***edit*** doh! someone beat me to it!

MD, here was my experience:

The backs were SO easy....

Jack up the rear end, put it on jack stands, remove wheels, etc.... Remove calipers (I forget, either the back ones or front ones didn't even need to come off) Jack the control arm, a lil bit of pressure, unbolt the shock, lower it down (we did use a compressor, but you didn't have to)... Same thing w/ the other side...

FRONT: We tried to get the tie-rod off and the car DID NOT like that....rofl...

We just undid the shock tower, jack under a-arm, lowered it until the spring came out, new one in, jack it back up (align the strut tower hole w/ the stud) and bolt everything back up!

P.S. My friend forgot to put the shock tower back into the wheel well and left a nice deep scratch on my fender.... No one has seen him for 3 weeks.... [&:]

Hey, when you unbolt the strut, does that mess with the camber or caster? I mean, when you unbolted it and dropped it out to swap the spring, does that screw up any alignment settings, or or they fixed???

not if you just unbolt the bottom, alignment is made from the top.

Just mark where evrything was and you'll be fine... You should prob. get an alignment after new spring anyways.
