my damn belt will not quit squeaking! the squeak is coming from the supercharger pulley. that is where its the loudest. no matter what i do it squeals! if i put belt dressing on it then it just gets louder and if i put wd-40 on it then it goes away for a min then comes right back. whats wrong. the only thing i can think of is that my sc pulley is not dead in line with all the others. its just a lil bit off, but there is nothing i can do about it its as far in as the bracket will allow it to go

somebody suggested that its my idler tensioner pulley but i dont think thats what it is cuz looks like it is working fine. O and i took the belt off and cleaned it and it stopped for like 5 min then slowly came back.

What brand of belt? [/align][/align]I have no experience with Mustang's, however I drove Eaton supercharged Miatas for over 6 years (where we were pulling the s/c with a 4-rib belt) and found that Goodyear Gatorback and Dayco PolyCog were the only belts that could do the job--quietly and for more than 10k miles.I used to get 25k from a Dayco, and less than 10k with all sorts of problems from Gates, Kelley-Springfield, and the other FLAPS brands.[/align][/align]Bando's are also good, but hard to find.[/align]

well i dunno what kind it is but its the one that vortech sent me with my kit it had maybe 100 miles on it when it started doin this

If it doesn't have "cogged" ribs (like this), get one that does. Advance Auto Parts doesn't stock them, but they can generally get any size you need in a day, sometimes in the same day.
