I suppose to make way for all of the additional weight of safety equipment (yep, that's usually where a lot of the weight comes from) while keeping the car affordable, you must compromise sleek interior components w/ their Asian knock-off inserts.. Cost is down, and style is still in the "marginal category.."
To each his own, I still love the new Shelby..

the side view mirrors are so damn big because of the inspection law that this damn country has. you think they look funny? wait till they have to be put on the new camaro! that will look fukin funny.

Its not inspection laws... its retarded ford engineering. Go look at current model P cars, new vette, viper, hell a freaking cavabalt has painted mirrors and they are half the size. Has nothing to do with inspection laws.

For 2,000 you can also make a Terminator into a monster. For 2k you can get a 500rwhp/tor car w/suspension that will run low 11's on the factory eaton. I have even seen Terminators into the 10's on that setup. The Shelbys have been in the 10's on the money too - both cars are warriors.
There are COUNTLESS terminators running 700+rwhp on stock motor and tranny, and just a brace on the IRS - you won't find Shelbys doing that because of thier forged assembly - they're just to weak. These Terminators also have over 50-60k miles on them. Brandasman, you still don't know 1/2 of what you think about these cars as you think you do, you think that the motor is just a "basic" Ford motor which it isn't, the only real weakness up to 800-1000rwhp is the heads, as long as you have a good tune and good cooling mods, and the fact that you have to run race gas for that high of hp (on the 900+side), I know it's possible because i have seen it firsthand. Obviously, the 5.4 is a better powerplant then the 4.6 - any retard can comprehend that. If they used the same type of assembly in the GT500, it'd be much more of a monster then it is now. Running 700+rwhp in a Terminator is cake, anyone with a 2.6KB can do it... while doing it in the Shelby is kinda like doing 450rwhp on a 2v GT stock motor... a ticking timebomb. There have already been a few motors that have blown under that much pressure.
You forget that the Terminator (while it has some issues) is probably the strongest motor Ford has put out. The only reason the Shelby isn't stronger is because of the forged metal they used. Atleast, the Terminators weak spot (the heads) can be fixed with a $120.00 part from Even flow or LDC.

Anyone that says the cars will hold value just because of the shelby name are forgeting about the shelbies that dodge made in the 80's. They are all worthless pieces of ****. The only reason the old shelbys increased in value is because one they are so rare, and to, like said before, they are out of the box race cars. Teh old shelbys came with a factory roll cage, full race suspension, and all kinds off goodies. Another good example is the 60's mach1s and bosses, they also increased in value tremendously, but the new mach1s have not.

Damn, I had a busy weekend. I wanted to give my input and thoughts on both cars in this thread but I didn't have time...I missed it!! [&:]Lol.
Anyways, one thing I think we all can agree on is both are two bad *** cars.
