I plan on getting a 2800 pretty soon from Alan at BC. You guys think that would be too small and wouldn't feel any different from stock? My car is a DD.

So what would be a good stall for me? I plan on swapping out my 3.73's with 4.10's and running slicks on the track. I still want to drive it on the streets every now and then, but I want to slap on the M/T's and run a respectable 1/4 mile time. I was figuring about 3800 would be a good spot to be.

Alan knows that stock stall is nearly 2800 and I am surprised he would recommend that unless you have financial constraints and are not getting a 10" but a reworked stock converter. Nothing less than the 10" that can handle being locked in 2nd gear and Alan's 3300-3400rpm stall which he told me I would not feel any difference from stock.
JD how is it when floored? I was afraid I would need to start driving a set of DR's and that was one reason I backed off. Thanks, mark

You must not have called Alan yet! He will most likely tell you to expext about a .7 drop in et's if you have it lock in 2nd with the 3800 stall which is the highest he goes with the 10" version. He is a great guy to talk to and took a lot of time with me. 3800stall, slicks and 4.10's and look for some 1.7-1.8 60' times would be my "guess" so please no flames! Mark
PS: I listed Alan's number above.

How is the stock stall 2800? The tires start to go at about 18-1900.

+1. I believe I read in MM&FF that it was 1600-2000 or so. For me, the wheels let go at 1800...

Because that's not you measure stall, it simply does not work that way.
Persdonally I would not waist my money on anything below 3200 rpm, are you aware of how a lock up converter works?

I am not aware of how a lockup converter works at all. Could you tell me? Also, what does everyone mean by wanting a stall that locks in second? Thanks
