ORIGINAL: BlackMustang02GT

right but in this case, if they actually offer a egr delete and also in a tuner to turn off the EGR, im pretty sure those companys who do so are still in buisness because they wouldnt sell stuff to blow up your pistons. no?
Last time I checked that Turbonator (pinwheel looking thing) was still being sold. That thing has ruined countless engines. Cigarettes are still for sale.

Just because it's for sale doesn't mean it'sgood for you.

how many hours on the install and can you offer any tips to someone who wants to try to do it themselves?

Use a strut tower engine support and drop the k-member. Let the engine down about 6 in and you can get air tools in there to change them in just a few mins. This is the best way I know to do it. First time doing it, about 6 hrs. Make sure the engine support is an adjustable one so you can let the engine down once you've dropped the k-member. I suggest using the stock exhaust studs instead of the bolts that come with the headers. You don't have to worry about them backing out.

I agree, my inference would be with a stock tune! Emissions tuning is alot leaner than performance tuning, because as you stated, the A/F mixture is richened, especially at that part throttle opening, which most engines live their life when cruising, and the most dangerous time for detonation.
