Default Rear end gone...

I was getting on the freeway the other day and i shifted from second to third at redline and dropped the clutch and there was quite a bang and then nothing. I could still shift gears but with the clutch out nothing would happen, i was going about 70ish and the speedo would move a little but nowhere near what it should have. I got it towed and got under the car (i thought it was my clutch for the second time) and checked out my driveshaft(FRPP aluminum) and i could spin in with the rear tires on the ground...

So my rear end had to had quite the catastrophic failure...

what could it be?? trak loc? gears? axleshafts? help me out here guys

Probably gears, if you get new ones see about getting 4.10's for your '01 GT they should work good

Yea, rebuliding a trak lok isnt too hard, but if its always better to upgrade to some heavier duty unit

Well this repair isnt on my dime so im limited in what i can do, but im open to suggestions provided they are somewhat reasonable. i have to keep the 28 spline shafts. what is a good upgrade for the trak lok??
