a pi swap would benefit you a lot. since your a technician you should be able to do the swap pretty easily. i would saya blower but that may be out of your price range. last but not least i would check into maybe a set of VT stage cams. they add power, and a nice lope. cant beat that

yea only 500 bucks it wouldnt idle because of the iac so i think the guy thought he toasted the engine i have pics but i dont know how to post them, and i really didnt want to swap the heads out because i have the 4v heads im gonna build the motor with but i wouldnt mind changing the cams out whats a good mild cam , i was also going to improve ignition

OK, this might sound really dumb, but what exactly is the difference between a PI and a non-PI mustang? I have a 99 gt and supposedly it is a PI. just wondering.

pi s flow better due to the fact that the cylinders are bigger...and have a different shape. your car should have the pi heads.

This is the second time you have posted something like this.

The cylinders are not in the heads, and they are not any bigger on a PI than NPI setup. The heads and intake flow better on the PI cars, and they have a more agressive set of cams.

The cyilnders are in the block. They are nothing more than the holes the pistons sit in.

Greasemonkey: I have not tried it myself, but its generally accepted that you can't just bolt on a set of 4v heads to a 2v block, as the water passages (among other things) are supposed to be different... but IDK for sure as this is just secondhand information.

Being a ford tech, if I were you I would find a junkyard 99-04 GT and do a motor swap, with your skills and availble shop/tools it should be a pretty easy swap for you, and you will pickup lots of horsepower with minimal work (instead of pulling apart your motor). You might even get lucky and be able to sell your entire NPI engine to someone like a carlot etc that has no interest in performance and get some money back.

yea i know the heads dont bolt up im trying to find a resonablly priced block in the mean time im trying to stay cost efficient but still get decent power with the 2v now i was thinking of selling the 4v heads to do the pi swap but my block has over 130,000 miles on it so if im going to pull it out to rebuild i would rather build the 4v engine,
