get american tunder...it sounds so much better! hotrod I thought u said u had 40s put in on a magnaflow catback? I always loved the way your car sounded since u first posted that video. why you sell it???
Yea i did, but its the same 40 series 2 chambers that come in the american thunder system. I cant imagine the pipes having that much of a sound difference.

I was actually looking for a WS6 when i got the mustang, i just couldnt find one for a decent price at the time. Plus the stang was up there in mileage when i bought it, and had almost 120k when i traded it. This trans am has just over 65k

Now i just have to get the trans am to sound as good as the stang, which I dont think is possible [>:]

hahah yea man that is IMPOSSIBLE. I was strongly considering a WS6 before I bought my stang but I heard stangs like yours all around my area and that kinda made my decision. Well at least you got the almight ls1 that would smoke my car. I was wondering how the original 40 series would sound with my catback. For some reason my car doesnt sound exactly like yours

For a while, the flowmaster cat back came with those delta flow mufflers, which sound a little different then the original 40's. Mabey you got one of those.

This LS1 is fast . Its stock and would still beat my stang pretty bad. I know this, because i raced a few of them when i had the stang........ it didnt end well [&:]

Are Original 40's and American Thunder the same thing?

I believe they are now. For a while, flowmaster came out with those delta flow mufflers (which noone liked too much) and those came with the american thunder systems.

Flowmaster got a lot of complaints about it, so im pretty sure they switched back to the original 40 series for the cat back systems.

oh no mine has those super 40s. yea american thunder has the super 40s and the force 2 has that delta flow garbage. I read on the website the original 40s are a lil bit louder than the super 40s. I had the originals welded in with a o/r h and OMG it was soo loud. I bought the catback and its a lot quieter and has a smoother tone.
