Both look great when new and clean and if you look after them both.
If you don't look after either then the chrome gets scabby and the polished look like crap.
It's up to you after the purchase.

I have chrome and I look after them meticulously and they always look great with no flaking issues to speak of.

So to keep them clean (chrome) all you need is the mothers polish and the polish ball? Or first off do you have to stick some soapy water on them?

NO !!!! Don't use any kind of polish or power polisher on chrome. I read their process further down in the ad and it sounds like they at least know how chrome is applied. The final chrome layer is very thin and can be worn off using polishing tools.Even using the wrong polishing compound or wheel type cantake the edge offthe shiny, sparkling appearance. An earlier poster said to use windex which is good, but use the same microfiber towels you use to polish your paint when cleaning chrome wheels.Paper towels have small wood splinters in them from the manufacturing process and are to be avoided for anything you want to keep shiny.
Chrome is just a coating and any break in the surface will start a flaking process that won't end untilall the chrome is off the platedpart,so keep away from curbs and the old "bar-type" of tire changers.

I had chrome wheels in the past on a different car and they weren't hard to clean. I just took some water and a towel and went at it. I have black fr500's with a polished lip on the way and i'll see how those do but, it can't be too bad.

I think the chrome look better for a few years until they start to pit and then crack and flake and this will eventually happen to all of them. I washed mine atleast once a week and most of the time twice and no matter what they eventually would build blemishes. Usually they would start on the interior side (brake side) where you don't clean as good unless you remove the wheel every week to clean.
I have also had polished wheels but they are alot of upkeep but a Mothers Powerball will keep them shiny with little work...
I have personally switched to painted wheels and won't be going back to chrome or polished ever again.

I am OCD meticulous about my car anyway (it's black and it's worth every once-a-week-four-hour-wash-and-detail) so it's not the maitenence I mind so much, I just want what will look the shiniest the longest. A lot of the chrome replica wheels I've seen have that wavy, orange peel look to it. Cheap chrome, I guess....
