Default MAF screen

Who has installed a CAI and left the MAF screen off? Will it hurt anything to leave it off. I installed a CAI a couple days ago and left the screen off and so for so good.

I left it off when I installed my BBK CAI, been two months now and still runs like a dream, not a single problem.

They say that you shouldn't leave it off, but I don't know anyone that left it on. Theoretically its an extra safety precaution assuming your filter gets punctured. But no one uses it. Its all about getting as little drag as possible.

Me too. I removed mine about 5 monthes ago, and nothing. I think that is just there to block things from getting inside, but they first have to make if throw your air filter. In other words, you'll be good go. Enjoy!

No it's not. It's there to help smooth and align the air flow into the MAF. Without it you may ...MAY... experience rough idle and other poor running characteristics.
